MOLD AND WATER DAMAGE INSPECTIONS
Mold Inspections conducted by IEG are tailored to your needs and include a visual inspection, moisture measurements, air and/or surface sampling for mold spore type and count (if necessary), and a detailed report with recommendations or the mold remediation protocol (if required).

Why are mold inspections are so important?
- Protect Your Health: Mold releases spores that can trigger allergies, asthma, and other respiratory problems. Some molds produce mycotoxins, which are harmful to humans.
- Prevent Property Damage: Mold eats away at wood, drywall, and other building materials. This can weaken structures and lead to costly repairs.
- Save Money: Early detection means you can fix mold problems before they get worse. This saves you from expensive remediation and replacement costs.
- Maintain Property Value: Mold issues can lower your home or business’s value. A clean inspection report reassures buyers and tenants.
- Comply with Regulations: For businesses, mold inspections may be required to meet health and safety standards.
What happens during a mold inspection?
- Visual Inspection: The inspector checks areas prone to mold, such as bathrooms, kitchens, and around windows. They look for visible mold, water stains, and signs of leaks.
- Moisture Measurement: Using special tools like moisture meters and thermal imaging cameras, the inspector detects hidden moisture behind walls, ceilings, or under floors.
- Air Sampling: Air samples are taken to measure mold spore levels within the indoor air. This helps identify mold that isn’t visible and aids in determining if the affected area is limited to one part of the property, or if it has spread throughout via the HVAC system.
- Surface Sampling: The inspector may collect samples from mold growth to identify the type of mold present. This aids in determining if toxic mold is present and helps in compiling the remediation protocol, if required.
- Report and Recommendations: After the inspection, you receive a detailed report. It explains the findings and suggests next steps, such as mold removal or repairs. If mold growth is already visible, a mold remediation protocol will be offered. The protocol is needed by a Florida licensed mold remediator, so they can legally conduct removal and cleanup.
